Halti Oy, Press release 8.9.2020

Halti is the sponsor and the clothing supplier of the Finnish national biathlon teams in men, women and juniors. The agreement with The Finnish Biathlon Federation is signed for two seasons, until the end of season 21/22.

The Biathlon World Cup events reach, on average, nearly million tv-viewers in Finland.

In Europe the sport has been the most followed sport already a few consecutive years. The brightest stars of the team are Mari Eder and Tero Seppälä. The head coach of the team is experienced Jonne Kähkönen.

”This cooperation is a natural continuum to Halti’s investment in ski sports. The huge popularity of the sport in Europe strengthens Halti’s visibility in the international markets. We wish great success to Team Finland”, says Aki Kuusilehto, the CEO of Halti.

”We are very happy to have reached an agreement with Halti. As a Finnish brand, Halti’s experience and know-how gives us competitive advantage in the international competition as we head towards the Olympics. Halti’s professional grasp and the mindset of putting athletes first has convinced us from the beginning”, says Tapio Pukki, the Executive Director of The Finnish Biathlon Federation.

The BMW IBU World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland, opens the season at the end of November 2020. The high light of the season will be the IBU World Championships in Pokljuka, Slovenia in February 2020.

Halti has been working with world’s top athletes for over 40 years. Product development and testing has been the key component in these cooperations. World’s leading athletes take Halti clothing and gear to extreme conditions and extreme use – and with that feedback Halti develops its products further. Along with the Finnish national biathlon team, Halti supplies clothing for the Finnish national teams in cross country, ski jumping and nordic combined, as well as individual Team Halti athletes in different sports. Also, the staff of the International Ski Federation, FIS, wears Halti.
