Halti Wins Scandinavian Outdoor Award

We’re proud to share that Halti has won the Scandinavian Outdoor Award in the Lifestyle category for Spring/Summer 2026 with the Kaltio Women’s Training Hoodie – a highlight of our Active Sport collection.

The award, presented by the Scandinavian Outdoor Group, recognizes outstanding new products from Nordic outdoor brands. An international jury of outdoor journalists, retailers and gear experts tested each item in real conditions, rating them on innovation, functionality and design. The award holds strong credibility in the outdoor industry and retail.
For Halti, this marks our second win – the first was back in 2019.

The Winning Piece: Kaltio Women’s Training Hoodie
The Kaltio Hoodie combines technical function with next-to-skin comfort and a relaxed fit. The fabric is highly breathable and comes with a UPF 50+ rating for sun protection. It works well in a variety of activities, from trail workouts to recovery walks. With its clean design and subtle technical details, Kaltio is a versatile layer for training and travel.

Jury Statement
"I love it," one jury member said. She put on the Halti Oy Kaltio Women’s Training Hoodie from the start and never took it off again. For the next three days she wore it during hiking, kayaking, running, yoga sessions and spending time at camp. The soft polyester fabric is highly breathable and offers greater wind resistance than traditional fleece. The integrated stand-up collar keeps the neck covered and can easily be opened for additional airflow.

From the Designer
The Kaltio Hoodie is a team effort from Halti’s Finnish design and product development team. Designer Maaret Pääkkö shares the story:

"We set out to design a product that fits the needs of active people across different sports, while also working well during downtime. Our focus was on comfort, functionality, clean looks and just the right amount of technical detail.
We drew inspiration from Finnish Lapland. You can spot the silhouette of the fells in both the prints of the collection and the hoodie’s cut lines. Kaltio has a soft technical fabric and an easy fit that feels comfortable to wear. Details such as the back pocket, hood, ponytail opening, stand-up collar and reflective elements add practical functionality for an active lifestyle."
