Halti Wins the Scandinavian Outdoor Award
Halti has won the prestigious Scandinavian Outdoor Award – Overall Winner – with the 1976 Down Parka. This marks Halti’s first victory in the competition’s highest category and highlights a product rooted in 50 years of Finnish design expertise.
The Scandinavian Outdoor Award, presented by the Scandinavian Outdoor Group, showcases the best new products from Nordic outdoor brands. An international jury of experienced outdoor journalists, retailers and equipment specialists tests the products in real-life use and evaluates them based on innovation, functionality, design, sustainability and performance. The award is well known for its thorough evaluation process and its high recognition in the outdoor industry.
This is Halti’s first Overall Winner award.
Award-Winning Product: 1976 Down Parka
The Halti 1976 Down Parka is designed for demanding winter conditions. Its fully waterproof, taped construction, durable materials and timeless design make it a reliable choice for everyday winter wear. The specially woven shell fabric and lining are made of recycled polyester, supporting long-term use and dependable weather protection.
The parka is insulated with the new, revolutionary Untuvia® recycled down, cleaned using a completely waterless and non-toxic supercritical carbon dioxide process. This method gently removes bacteria and impurities while preserving the natural structure of the down.
With a fill power of 700, the insulation provides excellent warmth even in severe frost. Practical details — such as the adjustable hood and cuffs, side zippers for increased mobility, multiple secure pockets, and a detachable faux fur trim — add everyday functionality.

In the day’s test in deep snow, the parka impressed with its breathability and warmth, keeping the tester dry and comfortable. A rare balance of style, circularity, and performance. The 1976 Parka is the result of close collaboration within Halti’s design and product development team. Designer Hanna Koivula shares the background behind the award-winning product:
“We wanted to honor Halti’s 50-year journey as a pioneer in outdoor equipment. Our history is an important source of inspiration, but we didn’t want to rely on nostalgia. In true Halti spirit, we looked ahead and sought new solutions — just as we always have.”
