Halti Oy is responsible for this website and strives to ensure its accessibility in accordance with the applicable legislation.

The accessibility of the service has been implemented, tested, and evaluated by an external expert organization, Konsepto. The site has also been tested with a keyboard and screen readers, both on desktop and mobile devices.

This accessibility statement relates to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services and the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The statement has been prepared in alignment with the EU Commission’s English-language template and guidelines from the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom).

Non-Accessible Content

Currently, the site has the following deficiencies in meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 levels A and AA).

Product information table on the checkout page is difficult to navigate with keyboard and screen reader

Shopify’s checkout summary uses a table format that is challenging for screen readers to interpret. This part of the checkout code cannot be directly modified. Shopify developers were notified of the issue on June 12, 2025.

Low contrast in text over images

Some images with overlaid text may have insufficient contrast. We aim to correct old instances when identified and ensure proper contrast in new content.

Autoplaying videos lack controls

Videos that autoplay have no mechanisms to pause, stop, or hide them. These videos are part of the site's visual identity.

Address form lacks error validation

On the logged-in user's address page, the form does not validate or flag errors. Errors only appear during checkout, requiring the user to return and edit details. A technical fix is planned.

Quantity adjustments in cart are not read by screen reader

Screen readers do not announce quantity changes made using plus/minus buttons. Requires script changes, which are under investigation.

Filtering buttons lack descriptive labels for screen readers

In the product filtering view, TalkBack screen reader does not announce the purpose of checkbox buttons. A new filtering tool is being evaluated to address this.

Navigation menu partially broken with keyboard

Using screen reader to open the main menu (e.g., "Outlet") shifts focus in a confusing way. Other top-level menus cannot be opened via keyboard unless the current one is closed. All main nav links contain redundant “Navigate to” text. The theme’s underlying structure causes this and will be addressed with the theme developers.

Missing labels for price slider

The price range slider lacks form labels. The issue will be resolved in connection with a new filtering tool.

Invalid ARIA reference in code

Product pages contain invalid ARIA references, which may hinder screen reader usage. These will be corrected or removed.

Missing alt text on product pages
