For garments and products containing down, it is important to ensure they dry properly after washing or after becoming wet due to rain or other damp conditions. Whenever possible, use a tumble dryer to restore the loft of the down.

WASHING

Wash down items separately and avoid overloading the washing machine. If available, use a wash program specifically designed for down products, as these programs typically maintain a higher water level during the wash cycle.

Use liquid detergent. Special detergents designed for down products are also available and recommended. Powder detergents can leave residues and are therefore not recommended for down garments and equipment.

Do not use excessive detergent. A small amount is sufficient for one load, or you can use your machine’s automatic dosing feature if available.

An extra rinse cycle is recommended, especially when using a standard detergent. This helps remove any detergent residue and allows the down to perform as intended.

Remember to use a thorough spin cycle after washing.

DRYING

Whenever possible, dry down garments in a tumble dryer. Always check the care label first to make sure tumble drying is permitted. If tumble drying is not allowed, dry the garment in a well-ventilated space on a hanger or laid flat on a drying rack.

Gently fluff the item by hand several times during the drying process.

Tumble drying helps restore the loft and softness of the down after washing. If the down has clumped together, gently pat or massage the affected areas by hand to help separate the clusters.
