Down is a keratin-based material made to last. When properly cared for, it can be used in multiple products back-to-back. Untuvia’s waterless recycling method cleans used down without damaging its delicate structure.

Untuvia unlocks the full potential of down and extends the life cycle of the valuable insulation material even after the first down product has reached the end of its useful life.

THE UNTUVIA STORY

From a simple question to a Finnish innovation.

Untuvia team

The idea behind Untuvia began in Finnish Lapland with a spark that burned a hole in a down jacket.

While the jacket itself had reached the end of its usable life, the down inside still held value. That realization led to a question: why wasn't there a way to recover and reuse such a remarkable material?

Inspired by that challenge, founders Teemu and Heikki set out to develop a better solution.

Founded in 2024, Untuvia created an innovative process that restores recycled down to a quality suitable for new products. By removing accumulated oils and impurities without water, the process helps preserve the valuable properties that make down such an effective insulation material.

Today, Untuvia's recycled down is helping write a new chapter for one of nature's most remarkable materials.
