Layer up! Layering is the foundation of staying comfortable and active in the outdoors, no matter the season. Layers are the instruments of keeping you dry, warm, and using your energy efficiently. When combined into a system, a good sequence of layers moves moisture away from your skin, conserves or releases heat, and provides essential weather protection.
When building your layering system, remember that each layer should fit comfortably over the one beneath it—this means choosing a slightly larger size for outer layers to ensure textiles, and yourself, move freely.
An efficient layering system means more time outdoors, so you can feel confident and focus on what you want to do.
FIRST LAYER
Made from moisture-wicking materials, the first layer keeps sweat away from your skin, helping you stay dry and comfortable even during high-intensity activities. Choose the type of base layer material according to your preference, training intensity or the climate.
Merino Wool wicks moisture, stays dry, doesn’t itch, and it’s naturally antibacterial properties resist odors.
Active Dry is a technical material designed to manage moisture effectively. It wicks sweat away from the skin and dries quickly, also during intense activity.

SECOND LAYER
Second layer, aka midlayer is all about warmth and temperature regulation. A midlayer traps heat while allowing moisture to escape. Choose from fleece, wool, synthetic insulations or down – depending on your activity or the weather conditions ahead. When selecting insulation type, also consider factors like weight and packability to match your needs.

OUTER LAYER
Your shield against wind, rain, and snow. Shells are the most weather protective layer but you might be well off with a softshell or a simple insulation. Evaluate your weather
conditions and it’s unexpected changes, and your own expected output level when making your selection.
Look for waterproof and breathable materials when you need to ensure ultimate protection.
